Adding to its allure, the lid is adorned with a cast bust of a nude siren gracefully holding a harp. 'Presented to Thomas Smart Turnbull, in Greatful Rememberence of his noble effort to save the life of Charles Solomon at Whitby, August 10th 1859'.
