19th Century Stunning Victorian Silver presentation lidded Flagon, of tapering cylindrical form on a spreading foot, the domed cover terminating with a large finial naturalistically modelled as a ram. The piece is richly gilt and features a cast foliate scroll handle, the sides are profusely embossed and chased with scrolls and flowers in relief. The spout is cast as a mask, one side bears a commemorative inscription "Queens County Agricultural Society - Challenge Cup presented by the Earl of Portarlington for the best pen of three Hogget Rams bred by exhibitor".
