19th Century Victorian Silver lidded Tankard and set of four matching goblets, each piece is richly gilt, the tankard of tapering cylindrical form on spreading foot in the style of the late 17th Century tankards, the body beautifully acid-etched decorated with two oval reserves depicting playing Cherubs, flanked with a rich and very naturalistic foliate decoration, domed lid in the same style, the set of four large goblets also richly gilt, featuring the same decoration. Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1871 (q), Maker's mark SS for Stephen Smith.
