Antique 19th Century rare Victorian Solid Silver pair of cast figurative bowls / large salts, each richly gilt, featuring an exceptional Rococo design in the style of the greatest Baroque silversmith Charles Frederick Kandler (German silversmith active in London from year 1727), and inspired in particular by the enormous wine cistern of the Hermitage Museum, the most important and the largest extant piece of antique solid silver in the world (please follow this link). Filled bases, each bowl is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1893 (S), Maker's mark JBC (Carrington & Co, Great silversmiths with a Royal Warrants from Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, Edward VII and George V, as well as Nicholas I, II and Queen Alexandra of Russia).
