Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver mounted glass wine claret jug, exceptional and magnificent, baluster shaped, the etched and cut frosted glass body is mounted with a decorative cast handle, realistically modelled as a grapevine branch with leaves and grapes surrounding the body.
The jug is particularly large and impressive, and is made by one of the leading manufacturers of the Victorian era.
Both collar and cover are Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), Birmingham, year 1860 (L), Maker's mark E&Co for Elkington & Co.
