19th Century Victorian Silver figural wine ewer jug, exceptional and magnificent piece, extremely large size, slightly baluster form, the gilt upper body is applied with a cast frieze featuring lions, flowering urns and masks, the gilt lower body is applied with a cast snake, very realistically made. The waisted neck with hinged lid, set with an incredible figural finial featuring a naked girl seated on a dolphin. Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1863 (h), Maker's mark SSWN for Stephen Smith & William Nicholson.

Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver figural wine ewer jug, exceptional and magnificent piece, extremely large size, slightly baluster form, the gilt upper body is applied with a cast frieze featuring lions, flowering urns and masks, the gilt lower body is applied with a cast snake, very realistically made. The waisted neck with hinged lid, set with an incredible figural finial featuring a naked girl seated on a dolphin (the Mythological figure of Galatea, please follow this link). Both parts are Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1863 (h), Maker's mark SSWN (Stephen Smith & William Nicholson).
