19th Century Victorian Silver magnificent and exceptional matching three-piece centrepiece, comprising of two comports / tazzas and a larger dumb-waiter dessert stand with two graduated serving plates. Each piece featuring a sumptuous workmanship and a very heavy gauge, the unscrewable openwork dishes have a broad peacock tail border surrounded by a stylized scrolling design, the heavy cast stems with beaded borders and four protruding lion's masks, they rest on a cast scrolling border. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, the two comports year 1867 (m), the larger piece year 1868 (n), Maker's mark on each part crowned RG for Robert Garrard II.

Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver magnificent and exceptional matching three-piece centrepiece, comprising of two comports / tazzas and a larger dumb-waiter dessert stand with two graduated serving plates. Each piece featuring a sumptuous workmanship and a very heavy gauge, the unscrewable openwork dishes have a broad peacock tail border surrounded by a stylized scrolling design, the heavy cast stems with beaded borders and four protruding lion's masks, they rest on a cast scrolling border.
This is a particularly decorative and impressive set, made by one of the greatest Royal silversmiths of all time, extremely heavy gauge and crisp decoration, each dish is centered by an engraved family crest.
Each part is Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, the two comports year 1867 (m), the larger piece year 1868 (n), Maker's mark on each part crowned RG (Robert Garrard II), important Royal silversmith (Queen Victoria appointed Robert Garrard to the position of Crown Jeweller in 1843, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware for the Royal Family, please follow this link). Each piece is also stamped with the Retailer's mark "Garrards, Panton Street, London".
