19th Century Victorian Silver magnificent "Cellini" pattern wine Ewer and a pair of Goblets cased set. The pattern is so called in honor of Benvenuto Cellini, the sculptor and goldsmith of the 16th Century considered the greatest of all time. Each piece features a chased and embossed decoration of masks, animals, strap-work and flutes, and has a cast caryatid ornate scroll handle, the jug's neck is engraved with initials. The hinged lid terminates with a scrolling finial, each piece is richly parcel gilt. The set comes in its original fitted leather bound box. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, the jug year 1872 (r), goblets year 1869 (o), Maker's mark IH&RR for John Hunt & Robert Roskell.

The pattern is so called in honor of Benvenuto Cellini, the sculptor and goldsmith of the 16th Century considered the greatest of all time. Each piece features a chased and embossed decoration of masks, animals, strap-work and flutes, and has a cast caryatid ornate scroll handle, the jug's neck is engraved with initials. The hinged lid terminates with a scrolling finial, each piece is richly parcel gilt. The set comes in its original fitted leather bound box.
Each part is Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, the jug year 1872 (r), goblets year 1869 (o), Maker's mark IH&RR (John Hunt & Robert Roskell, great silversmiths, they took over the workshop of Paul Storr, the greatest silversmith of all time). Each base is also stamped "HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR & MORTIMER", each with a different code. Very important silversmiths, jewellers and retailers, supplies to Her Majesty the Queen and to the Russian Imperial household.
