19th Century Victorian Silver extremely large and decorative pair of charger plates, made in the Queen Anne style, circular shaped with robust gadrooned border, the broad rim embossed with foliage and scrolls strapwork on a textured ground. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, exactly the same style but one year 1846 (L), Maker's mark crowned RG for Robert Garrard II, the other year 1888 (N), JG for James Garrard.

Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver extremely large and decorative pair of charger plates, made in the Queen Anne style, circular shaped with robust gadrooned border, the broad rim embossed with foliage and scrolls strapwork on a textured ground. The two chargers are fully Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, exactly the same style but one year 1846 (L), Maker's mark crowned RG (Robert Garrard II), the other year 1888 (N), JG (James Garrard). The second charger has been made on commission to match the first, both made by the great silversmiths Garrards (James is Robert's brother), Royal silversmiths (Queen Victoria appointed Robert Garrard to the position of Crown Jeweller in 1843, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware for the Royal Family, please follow this link).
