Antique early-19th Century Georgian impressive and magnificent Solid Silver wall charger / sideboard dish, of shaped circular in the style of the 16th / 17th Century silver sideboard dishes / chargers, decorated with lobed panels embossed with blooms in the style of the early silver pieces, a band of scrolling foliage, the centre is embossed with the "Tudor rose", the symbol of the Tudor dynasty ruling England in the 16th / 17th Century.

The reverse bearing a Victorian inscription "Presented to WILLIAM ROME by the Officers and Clerks Committee of Corporation of the City of London in commemoration of his chairmanship 1892".

The charger is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1809 (O), Maker's mark "WP" for William Pitts, very important silversmith, famous for his impressive and very valuable chargers in the style of the early 17th Century.
