19th Century pair of Victorian Silver decorative trophies / vases / cups and covers, both massive size and exceptionally heavy, mounted on original ebonized wood bases, each urn-form body applied with cast grapes, marvellous cast handles naturalistically modelled like branches with grapes, surmounted by nude figures holding glasses, probably drunk nymphs from a baccanalia, removable lid surmounted by a vase-shaped finial. Each part is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1867 (m), Maker's mark S.S (Stephen Smith, one of the preeminent Victorian silversmiths, specializing in highly-decorative patterns, he patented many Cellini style designs).
CONDITION
In Great condition - No damage, just general wear.
