DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century rare Georgian Solid Silver two-handled tray, exceptionally heavy and richly gilt, of oval form, the applied cast rim with acanthus leaves and shells at intervals, each side terminating with heavily decorated acanthus handles.
The tray is impressive and features the heaviest gauge I have ever found on a tray. The border is engraved with a coat of arms and a family crest with an arm in armour holding an anchor.
Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1826 (l), Maker's mark E.F (Edward Farrell, one of the greatest silversmiths of all time).
CONDITION
In Great condition - No damage, just general wear.
