19th Century Georgian 18k gold & guilloche enamel pill box, of traditional round shape and exquisite quality, the lid elaborately decorated with an array of wavy colours of translucent enamel on engine turned ground. The sides inlaid with white sprays of champleve enamel and applied throughout with gilt floral garlands. With an applied protruding thumb piece and hinge, the top engraved with very elaborate initials GP. Both sides hallmarked with English gold marks 18 (750 gold standard), London, year 1823 (h), Maker mark P&C (Unknown to me).
