Antique 18th Century extremely rare Georgian Irish Provincial solid silver cream jug, helmet form, resting on three hooved feet with shell junctions, applied girdle, leaf-capped scroll handle, shaped rim. The side engraved with initials "E R Mc" and the base "BPE".

Georgian silverware from Cork is very rare and sought after.

Hallmarked Irish Provincial Silver, Maker's mark M.D for Michael McDermott (M partially rubbed), sought after silversmith active from 1750 (deceased in 1784). Please follow this link to an identical jug in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
