18th Century Georgian pair of Silver candlesticks, beautifully cast and richly gilt, stunning leafy Rococo design, detachable nozzles unmarked but bearing the same small family crest of the sticks. The two Georgian candlesticks have been converted in candelabra in the mid 20th Century, as the branches were realized by the great luxury firm and retailer Asprey & Co in the same Rococo style to fit the Georgian sticks. The candlesticks and the branches are Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, but the sticks are Georgian, year 1749 (O), Maker's mark EG for Elizabeth Godfrey. The branches year 1966 (l), Maker's mark A&CoLtd for Asprey & Co.
