DESCRIPTION
Antique 18th Century rare Georgian Solid Silver lidded tankard, of baluster form, with applied girdle, domed cover, double scroll handle, the body profusely chased and engraved all over with scrolls and flowers, the front bearing a vacant cartouce. As often the case for such Georgian tankards the chasing is made in the Victorian era, but it appears to be particularly crisp and fine.
Each part is Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1784 (i), Maker's mark TW (Thomas Wallis II).
