Antique 19th Century extremely rare Austrian Solid Silver and Enamel figural goblet, exceptional quality of workmanship, the stem beautifully modelled as Atlas, from the Greek mythology the Titan who held the celestial sphere. The silver gilt cup is beautifully decorated with a multicolor gree and blue enamel, and the silver base and rim are set with emeralds and pearls.
Although the piece is not Hallmarked the style is typically Austrian (acid tested shows a 900+ standard), dating to the 1850-60's. The exceptional quality of the workmanship suggests that it might be a one-off piece, maybe realized by a great master for an exposition or on commission.
