Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver magnificent figural vase, impressively large size and richly gilt, stunning Neo-Classical style, the baluster body is engraved and applied with four medallions exceptionally decorated in bas-relief depicting Mythological allegories representing the four seasons. The sides are applied with two large figural handles modelled as Classical Muses. Body, neck and handles are fully Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1868 (n), Maker's mark DHCH (Daniel & Charles Houle, important silversmiths, sons of the famous silversmith John Houle). The base is also stamped with the retailer's mark "Jones & Son, 19 Long Acre, London".

Condition

Just general wear, minor dents and gilding worn in places.
