19th Century Victorian Silver pair of soup tureens and covers, each of oval form, Rococo design, particularly large and heavy, resting on four cast scrolling feet, very decorative cast handles, each side is applied with a vacant cartouche, each cover is surmounted by a stunning cast finial. The two tureens are made by two different silversmiths in consecutive years, but are absolutely identical and must be considered as an original pair commissioned by the same client. Hallmarked English silver (925), one tureen Sheffield, year 1841 (v), Maker's mark H&H for Howard & Hanksworth, the other London, year 1842 (G), Maker's mark I.T for John Tapley.
