19th Century Victorian Silver mounted etched-glass large Wine Claret jug, the glass body elaborately etched with Classical subjects, depicting decorative bands and charriots pubbled by horses, the silver mount is profusely chased with a floral decoration, one cartouche engraved with a falcon crest, hinged lid in the same style applied with a pierced thumb-piece. Hallmarked English Silver (925), Sheffield, year 1865 (X), Maker's mark WSGS for W & G Sissons.

Exceptional quality piece and very decorative. Both parts are Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), Sheffield, year 1865 (X), Maker's mark WSGS (W & G Sissons).
