Antique early 20th Century Edwardian coromandel wood smoker's box with solid silver mounts. This quite stunning box is made from the highly prized calamander or coromandel wood, native to india and Sri Lanka. Already rare due to its extinction, it is renowned for its tiger like stripes and strong colours that run through the grain of the wood. this particular example was made by the esteemed silversmiths and retailers Mappin & Webb.

The original cedar wood lining helps keep thiose cigars fresh whilst the exterior is remarkably free from any damage or engraving.
