A very rare Louis Vuitton courier trunk covered in leather. Dating to the early part of the 20th century, covered not in the world famous (but more common) monogram canvas but in a single piece of cow hide. The condition inside is in near mint condition with its original pull-out trays. These all-leather trunks were made by special order and Louis Vuitton used to take pride in using only the best hides. These are part of a range of “speciality materials” used by Vuitton, the materials including (but not limited to) zinc, copper, crocodile leather and cow leather. This particular trunk has lovely blue and red “recognition stripes” across the whole outer edge, custom painted by a previous owner. The leather shows wear but is still supple, oozing charm and elegance. A truly great piece for any collector.

A superb example of an early 20th century Louis Vuitton hat trunk in the world famous monogrammed LV canvas. This unusually sized trunk is in very good condition and harks back to times of passenger ships and 1st class travel of bygone eras. A wonderful conversation piece that would make a welcome addition to any home, both modern or traditional.
