19th Century Victorian solid silver magnificent & impressive four piece tea and coffee set, comprising of coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, each pear-form body is chased and applied with rustic scenes of peasants merry-making, in the style of the Dutch painter David Teniers. Handles are cast as a drunken peasant perched on a tree branch and cast figural finials with drunken peasants sitting on barrels. The set is clearly inspired by the the early 19th Century tea services made by Edward Farrell. The set is exceptionally heavy and impressive, over 4 kilos of silver, very crisp and in excellent condition.
